After 1951, only one Ford station wagon, the Country Squire, bore any wood trim, and from mid-1952 even that was entirely of artificial composition. Its image, however, was undiminished, and such was the appeal of the Country Squire that soon other manufacturers, who had once raced to abandon wood, were fielding their own imitations.
